The Ten Commandments in 1923 featured this spectacular scene that left audiences gasping. Try to imagine seeing this for the first time with new eyes and not say, “Wow!”
Even in 1927’s The Lodger, Alfred Hitchcock’s sense of suspense was clearly on display. Is this a bad guy, or something else?! (Note – the scene is dark at first as the lights dimmed for extra suspense)
This 8 minute scene from King of Kings was one of my favourites when writing the music. The emotions of loyalty, confusion, love, betrayal are all on display.
